Life beyond the curriculum

Life at Westgate College is more than just about studying. The extended curriculum plays a vital role in learners’ education and the skills that are acquired are invaluable.

Learners of all abilities access the various enrichment activities and events and have opportunities to mix with our local hearing and deaf communities. The range of physical activities available includes sports such as football, netball, swimming, badminton, boxercise and karate.

Life beyond the curriculum

Other activities include visits to local restaurants, cinema and theatre. Learners extend their knowledge and experience to enhance their independence and social skills by using buses and shops in the local community.

Our own extensive grounds and resources ensure that all learners are able to access a range of stimulating activities to support our ethos of continuous learning.
